Traffick Proof is a tool that was developed by Justice Acts with the aim of educating the “at risk” on how to recognise signs of being trafficked and to empower them to take preventative measures, report trafficking and get help if victimised. This tool can be used to raise awareness in communities and in schools. The manual can be downloaded on their website and you can also invite Justice Acts to come and do a presentation in your community.

The name says it all! If someone reports a child that went missing, this organisation sends out notifications via various channels. With this information being released while the trail is still hot, the chances of success are much greater. They rely on a volunteer basis of people in communities that act as their eyes and ears on the ground.
If you want to be notified when a child goes missing, join their mailing list by contacting Judy Botes - judy@missingchildren.org.za - or report a child that went missing by phoning 072 M I S S I N G

The Salvation Army has launched a 24-hour toll free hotline number, 08000-RESCU (08000-737283), where victims and members of the public can report all cases of human trafficking.
The toll free number is a joint initiative of The Salvation Army and BE HEARD™. The helpline can be called by anyone seeking help on all matters related to human trafficking and it also serves as a platform for people to offer tip-off information on suspicious circumstances.
The “Valuable to Jesus” project is a STRAATWERK initiative. The aim of the campaign is to get communities mobilised and to warn children against abuse, prostitution and pornography. Dolls are knitted by women in the communities and these dolls are then given to children as part of a “lesson” that they are NOT FOR SALE.
Their project is aimed at pre-primary and primary school children. If you want to become a coordinator for the “Valuable to Jesus” campaign in your area or assist Straatwerk by knitting dolls, go to their website:

While You're Watching the World Cup - Who's Watching Our Children?
During the 2010 World Cup our country will be filled with visitors, most of them well intentioned sports fans. Some, however, will not be so well meaning. From 11 June to 11 July millions of children will be left at home without childcare due the extended school holiday. We are calling on every community to open their doors to children during this time to ensure that the kids don’t fall prey to those who may want to manipulate or take advantage of them. Join us in addressing a practical need that could save a child's life.
